About Olivia Hagge

Olivia Hagge is a 22 year old NYC based artist studying photography and imaging at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Originally from Texas, she attributes her photographic style to the rural landscape that first nursed her artistic eye during adolescence. She shoots exclusively analog and finds photography to be a two-step process: it first involves taking the picture and secondly making the tangible image. The darkroom is what gives her photographs flesh and blood.
There is a constant flamboyance that lies amongst the mundane. Olivia uses her photographs to document the peculiar playfulness that offers itself to us everyday, but only to those who really look and to those who are peculiar themselves. Olivia hopes that her photographs can offer her audience a glimpse into that looking glass. Image-making is Olivia’s form of magic, as magic is everywhere when you look for it.
